Chilvers Coton Craft Centre and Cafe in Nuneaton offers a quiet, community-centered spot where local craft enthusiasts and casual visitors cross paths. The cafe itself serves straightforward fare—coffee, slice of cake, teas, soups, and simple sandwiches—making it a practical choice for a light breakfast or lunch break amid browsing. Its popularity around mid-mornings and weekends is evident, especially when several of the craft units are open and active.

The atmosphere inside the craft centre can vary quite a bit. At times, particularly on weekdays or outside busy periods, some sections feel a bit empty due to vacant units or limited opening hours of the shops. However, Saturdays tend to bring out more of the centre’s creative side, with more makers and workshops running. Many visitors are drawn by the handmade goods and crafts like needle felting, leatherwork, and quilted bags, giving the centre a distinctly artisanal vibe. The friendly, hands-on character of the place makes it approachable for anyone interested in local crafts or simply curious about the community’s creative scene.

For those dropping in by car, parking is generally convenient, though it can get hectic around school pick-up times when parents gather in the lot. The cafe and center are accessible, including easy access toilets, which adds to the practical appeal for a wide range of visitors, including those with mobility needs.

This spot works well as a casual meeting point—whether you’re part of a local club, like a birdwatching group who met here, or simply looking for a quiet spot to pause during shopping. Expect a relaxed, somewhat eclectic setting where you can enjoy a cup of coffee alongside displays of local art forms, abstract paintings, and handcrafted goods. Those who appreciate handmade quality won’t be put off by the prices, which reflect the effort and care behind each item.

In short, Chilvers Coton Craft Centre and Cafe suits locals and visitors who are curious about Nuneaton’s craft community and want a calm place to enjoy simple food and drink without the fuss of a busy commercial cafe. Weekends offer the fullest experience, but weekday visits can also be rewarding if you’re after a quieter stroll through local handmade creativity.

Great Leather workshop! Lots of other small shops in here too, very popular cafe. Watch out if you come when kids are being picked up, alot of parents descend in the car park.

Cafe is good and is usually busy. There are several units empty and up for rent at the moment inside the craft center and some of the open shops are only working restricted hours which can make it seem empty at some times. Saturdays tend to have the most shops open currently.

Parking is usually good various different crafts with very helpful people many run workshops for their crafts. There's a little cafe and toilets with easy access for those with impaired mobility. It's good to support these local craft centres.
